HUNGER GAMES

So sometimes I like to pretend that I am a mature adult and thus I do not have time for such things like young adult novels. This, of course, is totally a lie. I fucking love young adult novels! And when my sister let me borrow her Hunger Games trilogy it pretty much consumed my life for a full weekend.

They are making a movie of the Hunger Games, to be released in 2012, and I have pretty mixed feelings about the girl they chose to play Katniss. So before the movie came out I wanted to be sure and draw this because even if I hate the movie I know that it will nevertheless affect my Katniss, the one in my head. So here she is, preserved forever.

WELL THIS IS EMBARASSING...

Whoa girl! Where did all that time go?
I have a bunch of stuff to share once I get around to scanning it. Which, ideally, will be any day now seeing as I quit my job of 4 years. Fear not, I have another job lined up but it wont start for several weeks. Listen, everybody, I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase but so far I really mean it when I say, JOBLESSNESS IS AWESOME. I am getting so. much. shit done! Shazam! It's amazing how much energy you have when you aren't having your soul sucked away by the general public on a daily basis.

In the mean time, here's the final artwork for that Flying Coffin shirt I promised you like eighteen months ago. The shirt is available in three different colors and two long sleeve styles. Snatch it up from the online store!

Oh, hello there. I got this last week. Is it big and ballsy of me to say that I wasn't worried about getting in? I wasn't. It was a pleasant surprise to find out they granted me an entire year of transfer credit. Honestly, I neither asked or expected to receive that. I am, however, on ANXIETY WATCH 2011 for the financial aid package to arrive. I'm paying for this entirely myself and, ooo-eee, would I like some scholarships.

Here's a thumbnail for another Flying Coffin shirt I did. I'll post the final drawing when the fall season is released in a month or two. I finally bought graphite powder for this drawing and god. damn. is it incredible.

DAILY SKETCH

Now that my portfolio is done and sent I've been more or less taking it easy, although I still have several commissioned portraits as well as a few personal projects I'm trying to finish. In the mean time, however, I'm trying to do some sketches every day.

And, also, watching TRRRUUUUEEEE BLOOOOOOOOOODDDD.

ART CENTER

Today I put my portfolio in the mail to Art Center. I'm so excited! And so nervous! What if they accept me and give me twelve dollars in scholarships? What if they don't accept me at all? Anyway, here it is. Some of these are repeats of former figure drawings, but I got my fabulous talented sister to help me take photos of them with her fabulous camera, so I thought I'd post a second round.
